Chinese rich man buys hollywood
Chinese conglomerate Dalian Wanda Group has bought U.S. film studio Legendary Entertainment for about $3.5 billion, turning its chairman into a Hollywood movie mogul as China’s richest man steps up a drive to diversify his business empire overseas. At a news conference in Beijing on Tuesday, Wanda Chairman Wang Jianlin said he plans to package Legendary, behind hits like “Jurassic World”, with existing movie production assets in China and sell shares in the merged operation in an initial public offering (IPO).The move makes Wanda the first Chinese firm to own a major Hollywood studio – a sign of the country’s growing power in the global movie world, industry watchers said.“Wanda Cinema already has made tremendous development in China, but it isn’t enough,” said Wang, whose personal wealth is estimated by Forbes magazine to be about $27 billion. “Movies are global, and our company certainly wants to add our voice to the world film market.”The deal is Wanda’s biggest overseas acquisition ever and comes as Wang accelerates a drive to diversify a giant with 2015 revenue of $44 billion away from its core, but slowing domestic property operations. With deals to buy into everything from financial services to Spanish soccer club Atletico Madrid, Wanda said on Monday revenue rose 19 percent last year.Founded in Dalian, a city on China’s northeast coast, and now based in Beijing, Wanda is already the world’s biggest movie theater operator, having bought AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc, North America’s second-largest cinema chain, for $2.6 billion in 2012. It also owns Australian movie theater company Hoyt’s Group, and Wanda Cinema Line Corp, the group’s domestically listed firm, is the biggest theater operator in China.

children kidnapped by robbers leads mother to redraw 90,000
DETECTIVES in Ondo State Police Command have arrested the leader of a three-man armed robbery gang who held a mother of four, Folashade Jayeoba, hostage and led her to the bank to withdraw N90,000.She was reportedly led to the bank after she complained to the suspects that she had no cash at home. The leader of the gang, thereafter, asked for her ATM card and they followed her to the bank while they held her children hostage.Parading the suspects, the state Police Commissioner, Hilda Harrison, said the suspects invaded the house of the victim and robbed her of valuables, including a flat screen television.Harrison explained that they also abducted the victim and her four children and led them to Keystone Bank in Alagbaka, Akure, where she was forced to withdraw N90,000.The commissioner added that the money was collected from the victim before she and the children were set free by the suspects.According to her, on receipt of the case, detectives swung into action and arrested the leader of the gang, 23-year-old Samuel Ayodele, at Gaga, Oke-Aro area of the Akure metropolis. He was said to have confessed to the crime, while the victims’ items were recovered from his house. Also paraded, was a 20-year-old Ali Muhammed, arrested over the kidnap of one Alhaji Ibrahim Bello of Supare Akoko. The victim was said to have been attacked by a gang of kidnappers along Igbonla/Supare Akoko and taken to an unknown destination. The suspect, upon interrogation, had confessed to the commission of the crime. The Police Commissioner also said that a Toyota Camry car worth N2.5 million, stolen in Akure and sold for N200,000, had been recovered while two suspects, Falade Adesanmi and Gbenga Adewale, had been arrested in connection with the robbery of the car belonging to one Mrs. Akomolafe Abiodun.

Federal high court refuse to order the forfeiture of $15.5 million found in patience Jonathan account
The Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday refused to order the forfeiture of $15.5million found in the accounts of companies belonging to a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Waripamo Dudafa.Justice Babs Kuewumi convicted the companies after a review of the facts of the case by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFFC) lawyer Mr Oyedepo Rotimi. The companies, on September 15, pleaded guilty to laundering $15,591,700 (about N5billion) when they were arraigned. They are: Pluto Property and Investment Company Ltd (represented by Friday Davis), Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Ltd (represented by Agbor Baro), Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Ltd (represented by Dioghowori Frederick) and Avalon Global Property Development Ltd (represented by Taiwo Ebenezer)Following the companies’ conviction, Rotimi prayed the court to order the forfeiture of the money to the Federal Government.“Having found them guilty, the court should make a consquential order that the money should be forfeited to the Federal Government,” he said. But, the judge said he would hand down a sentence on the companies after the trial of the others who pleaded not guilty in the charge.Justice Kuewumi said: “The ownership issue is still pending. There’s also a pending suit on the matter.”Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s wife, Patience, is claiming the monies in the companies’ accounts as hers. The companies were arraigned along with Dudafa, a lawyer, Amajuoyi Briggs and a banker, Adedamola Bolodeoku.Dudafa, Briggs and Bolodeoku, however, pleaded not guilty to the 17-count charge. While reviewing the facts, Rotimi said the money was stolen from the State House, Abuja. He said: “EFCC received an intelligence report showing vividly that the fourth to seventh defendants retained proceeds of crime.“ Our investigations showed that Fetus Iyoha admitted receiving the fund from the first defendant. Iyoha is a domestic staff at the State House.“He admitted that funds credited into the accounts were given to him from the State House.”Rotimi said Iyoha paid $3,096,377.38 into Pluto’s account; paid $3,410,534.71 into Seagate’s account, paid $3,765,711.87 into Trans Oceans’ account, and paid $250,000 into Avalon Global’s accout. All the accounts, EFCC said, are domiciled in Skye Bank Plc.The judge admitted the accounts statements in evidence. He also admitted their mandate cards, certificates of incorporation and statements made to EFCC by the companies’ representatives.Justice Kuewumi held that the prosecution proved the allegations against the companies beyond reasonable doubt, especially after they pleaded guilty to the crime.“I am satisfied that the prosecution has proved its case. I’ll exercise my discretion to suspend sentence until conclusion of trial,” the judge held.EFCC said the accused persons conspired on November 13, 2013 in Lagos to launder $15,591,700.It said the defendants “reasonably ought to have known that the funds form part of the proceeds of an unlawful act”.Seagate Property, Dudafa, Bolodeoku and Sompre Omiebi (said to be at large) were accused of indirectly retaining $1,094,500 through a Skye Bank Plc account (2110002207) between November 14 and 19, 2013. EFCC said the money “forms part of an unlawful act to wit: stealing.”They were also accused of indirectly retaining $1,200,000 through the Skye Bank account between January 21 and December 19, 2014; as well as $1,349,700 through the same account between March 31 and May 20, 2015, among others.Justice Kuewumi adjourned until December 14 for trial.

Justin Timberlake says he wants to be with his wife
Justin Timberlake and his wife, Jessica Biel welcomed their son, Silas, 18 months ago. The singer who got married in 2012, told Variety magazine how fulfilled he is with being a father and how fatherhood changed everything
‘My life has changed and is changing. So it’s important to discover that there’s work you can do where you get more time with your family. I wouldn’t go on tour next week because I wanna be with my son. I wanna be with my wife.’
‘What does touring even look like for me now? It’s such a luxury to be able to make those decisions: to be able to think about how you could do the work you used to do in a different way.’
‘As men, we’re always taught at a young age to be a man and have your priorities in order. And you get to a point where you’re like, “It’s not about being a man, it’s about fulfillment.” Which is a totally different thing.’
‘But the more I go through this – making people laugh, and making people feel – it’s an amazing thing to be a part of. I get a gift out of it.’
‘When you’re younger, sometimes you can’t see that gift; I think that’s how some people in our industry become so megalomaniacal, in a way: It’s easy to be made to feel like, “I made all this happen.”
But you didn’t. You were just there for it. That’s what I feel like whenever I write a song. I was just there for it.’

police man stabs tout for #100
Pandemonium erupted on Saturday at Berger bus stop, Lagos State, after a policeman, who was a passenger on a 14-seater bus end route from Ibadan, Oyo State, reportedly stabbed a motor park tout, popularly called agbero , to death. The deceased was identified simply as Ahmed and was reportedly planning to marry in December. The policeman was said to be serving in a command outside Lagos.PUNCH Metro learnt that one of Ahmed’s friends had stopped the bus with the inscription, Success Express, and demanded N100 from the driver, who reportedly declined to pay the money. In the ensuing argument between the driver and the agbero , the policeman, who was at the front seat, reportedly got off from the bus.Our correspondent gathered that Ahmed had gone to the scene to know what transpired.“But the policeman suddenly brought out a very sharp knife and stabbed him (Ahmed) in the stomach. He held the policeman for a while and slumped. He stood up, staggered and slumped again.“The policeman put on trousers usually worn by riot policemen,” an eyewitness, Goke Adeleke, said.Ahmed was said to have been taken in the bus to the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre at the Ojota Tollgate, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.A friend of the deceased, who identified himself as Agberoko, said men of the Rapid Response Squad at the bus stop released tear gas canisters to rescue the killer cop.Agberoko, who spoke in Yoruba, said, “The RRS men shot into the air and also fired tear gas canisters to disperse us when we intercepted the policeman.“They recscue and took him into the Armoured Personnel Carrier stationed in the area.”Our correspondent, who arrived at the scene shortly after Ahmed’s corpse was brought back to the bus stop, noted that his friends went violent, and vandalised the bus.The angry mob also hurled stones at the RRS’ APC as the operatives drove off from the scene.A trader, Taibat Adejare, who was in tears, said Ahmed was decent among his counterparts. She said, “He just came out around 4pm today (Saturday). He ate a snack with a bottle of drink. It was about an hour after he came out that the incident happened.“He was very peaceful and jovial. He didn’t force drivers to pay. The policeman stabbed him with a poisonous knife.“I was joking with him some days ago that he should go and marry. He said he was planning marriage already and that it would come up in December.”The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, however, said the suspect was not a policeman, adding that the corpse had been deposited in a morgue. He said, “A group of social miscreants allegedly engaged one Sulaiman Anafi, a driver in charge of a Mazda commercial bus with number plate, XB 251 LEM, in a brawl at the Berger bus stop, inward Lagos, over parking ticket.“In the process, one of the passengers in the bus reportedly stabbed one of the area boys in the area with a knife and he died on the way to a nearby hospital.“The suspect has been arrested. He is not a policeman.”

Christiano Ronaldo is back in the goal scoring sheet with a hatrick
On a run of two goals in seven Real games and jeered by sections of the support against Athletic Club last weekend, he hit a hat-trick as Real won 4-1 in Vitoria.

The report of Real Madrid vs Alaves
Here's how it happened:
Alaves 1-4 Real Madrid: second halfPeeep! That's full time!
Min 92 | That's Cristiano's first treble for Madrid since demolishing Wolfsburg in April, and his 38th in total in Spanish football.
Min 90 | Three minutes added on. Christian Santos came on for Torres a few minutes ago, I neglected to mention.
Min 87 | Goooooal! Real make it four! Cristiano exchanges passes with Marcelo in the box and wallops it past Pacheco from by the penalty spot for his hat-trick. Ever so slightly flattering, that scoreline.
Min 86 | Bale trots off for a rest and Lucas Vázquez skips on.
Min 84 | Gooooooal! 3-1 to Real Madrid! Marcelo pings a route-one ball over the top for Morata o run onto, with Alexis giving furious but futile chase - and the striker doesn't even bother taking a touch before dinking a delightful lobbed finish over Pacheco. Wonderful finish! "Madre mía!" shouts AS's Tomás Roncero over the other side of the newsroom. Well quite, Thomas.
Min 81 | It's possibly not the best time for this, I admit. But anyway, here goes: Cristiano's goals this afternoon mean he's scored against all 31 teams he's faced in the top flight. The full story on that is here.
Min 80 | Kiko Femenía is into the book for giving the referee a little bit too much lip after a Danilo challenge on Krsticic.
Min 79 | Pacheco saves Cristiano's spot-kick! The former Real Madrid man guesses right and palms out the Portuguese's effort, which wasn't as far into the corner as he'd have liked.
Min 78 | Penalty to Real Madrid! Kroos swings over the corner and Daniel Torres is all over Cristiano! That certainly seems a clearer pen than the other one.
Min 76 | The ref clealry gives a throw-in the wrong way, awarding it to Real. Pellegrino is incandescent - and is sent to the stands! "Why?!" he can be seen mouthing.
Min 74 | He looks to be OK. 15 minutes to go, and it it stays this way it'll be five wins in a row in all competitions for Real, and six on the trot against Alaves.
Min 72 | Navas has to be quick to nip out and steal the ball from the on-rushing Deyverson's toes - but the Brazilian is flagged offside. Keylor has taken a knock for his troubles, and is in need of treatment.
Min 69 | Cristiano has clearly been watching too much of his pal Nacho in action. Kovacic crosses to the far post, where CR7 launches himself into a scissor-kick that is high wide and handsome.
Min 66 | It is indeed Benzema who is replaced by Morata, while Alaves introduce Katai for Edgar.
Min 65 | Varane plays an inch-perfect pass into the box to no-one in particular, while Morata takes a last swig of water and prepares to come on. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Karim Benzema is the chief candidate to be hooked.
Min 64 | Alaves are preparing a second sub, with Aleksandar Katai in line to be thrust into the action.
Min 62 | First change for Alaves as Krsticic comes on for Manu García.
Min 60 | Bale is the first Real Madrid player to see yellow after an ever so slightly wild lunge on Femenía. He makes furious I-got-the-ball motions with his hands, but he's fooling no-one. It's a promising position for Alaves to get it into the proverbial mixer, but Camarasa's delivery is disappointing, failing to clear the first man.
Min 59 | Álvaro Morata, Marco Asensio and Lucas Vázquez are all gamely warming up over on the touchline, while Nenad Krsticic is set to come on for Alaves.
Min 57 | Now Bale has a dig, but it's over.
Min 56 | There's a shooting opportunity for Cristiano as Kovacic wins it back high up the pitch and feeds the forward, who drifts in from the left channel and bends it wide of Pacheco's far post.
Min 54 | Close again from Alaves! Deyverson cuts inside Varane and aims a low, left-footed effort at Navas' near post, but 'the Cat' is down low and holds on.
Min 53 | Theo becomes the third Alaves man to go into the book for handling as he went down to challenge Danilo. Moments later, Kovacic fancies a crack from the edge of the box, but pumps it high.
Min 47 | There were no changes at half time, by the way.
Min 46 | What a chance for Alaves! They should be level in the opening seconds of the half! Deyverson plays it across to Camarasa, who's arriving ten yards or so outside of the box. He absolutely does Varane, poking it past the Frenchman and finding himself one on one with Navas - but the Costa Rican saves!Peeep! The second half is underway.Alaves 1-2 Real Madrid: half-time summaryReal Madrid go in ahead, having recovered from Deyverson's opener with a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo, who'll be feeling much better about himself now. Other than their horrendously ropey defending on the home team's goal - that's now nine straight games without a clean sheet for Real - the chief blackspot from the 45 for Zinedine Zidane's men is that injury to Pepe. After Sevilla's draw at Sporting Gijón earlier today, a win will see Madrid go provisionally three points clear at the top of LaLiga, with the rest of the chasing pack still to play.Over in the Alaves dressing room, one suspects Mauricio Pellegrino is busy telling his players to get the ball to Theo Hernández as fast as they bleedin' can. The youngster terrorised the Real backline for much of that first half.Alaves 1-2 Real Madrid: first halfPeeep! That's half time in Vitoria.
Min 45 | One minute of added time. Bale has the chance to square it for Cristiano in the box, but it's blocked; the Wales man picks it up again, finds a yard of space on the edge of the area...and curls it well off target.
Min 43 | Ronaldo's brace has taken his form of two in seven to the altogether healthier-looking (if still not quite on a par with his usual, Championship Manager-esque figures) four in eight. Although if you factor in international appearances, he came into today on seven in seven and has just moved to nine in eight. Stats, eh.
Min 40 | Daniel Torres gets a yellow card for a hand-off on Isco that Paul Gascoigne would have been proud of. Up the other end, Cristiano is now brimming with confidence and tries his luck from range - unsuccessfully so, though.
Min 37 | Feddal rises highest for Alaves to head a corner from the right towards goal...but it's well wide.
Min 36 | That's Ronaldo's first double of the season and takes him to four LaLiga goals.
Min 34 | Gooooal to Real Madrid! Cristiano gets his second and Los Blancos have turned it around! He picks it up in the right channel outside of the box, gets it out of his feet, and - via a fairly juicy deflection off Feddal's foot - beats Pacheco and finds the far corner!
Min 31 | The man given his marching orders by the fellow in black (well, pinkish red) was one of Pellegrino's assistants, our colleagues on Spanish TV tell us.
Min 30 | Deyverson is the first player this season to have scored against both Real Madrid and Barcelona, notes the ever-insightful OptaJose .
Min 29 | Theo again wreaks unbridled havoc on the left, and earns Alaves a corner - but Alexis can't quite get on the end of it.
Min 28 | Ufff! Marcelo fires it low into the box from the byline, but a blue and white shirt gets there first to clear at the near post. Alaves then break forward with menace down the right, but Varane beats Camarasa to Edgar's cross.
Min 25 | I've looked at a couple of replays of that penalty decision, and I confess I ain't sure what to say. It seems to strike Deyverson's head and a bit of elbow, so I guess by the letter of the law it's a pen. But that's seeing it for the third or fourth time in slow motion; watching it in real time, the contact with his arm is barely discernible.
Min 22 | Nacho Fernández is preparing to come on, and it's Pepe who's the man with the problem. On trots Real's Hugo Sánchez impersonator.
Min 20 | Now Alaves are asking for a penalty, but this time the ref says nope. Theo - who has had Danilo on toast so far - bursts past the Brazilian on the left, he sticks his foot, Theo falls...but it's only a corner - which is headed over. Meanwhile, someone on the Alaves bench - I didn't quite see who - is told to do one to the stands for his protests.Min 17 | Cristiano strides up to it, and sends Pacheco the wrong way! 1-1 at Mendizorroza!
Min 16 | Real win a free-kick just to the right of centre, and Bale is standing over it. He runs up, it hits the wall...and the referee has given a penalty! Handball against Deyverson! And a yellow card for his troubles! The Alaves players are absolutely fuming.
Min 15 | Bale almost found the head of Cristiano with one of his Delap/Challiner-esque long throws there, but the Portuguese couldn't quite get on the end of it.
Min 13 | Theo is causing Madrid all kinds of trouble down the left. He whips in another cross with his left for the head of Edgar Méndez - but he nods across the face of Navas' goal and wide.Min 12 | Bale has the ball in the net...but it won't count! Isco fed the run of the Welshman, who cut inside and fired in low past Fernando Pacheco, but he was offside when he received the pass.Min 9 | Theo immediately gets another crossing chance, but sends it long and high.
Min 7 | Goooooal! Alaves take the lead! The hosts hit Real with a lighting break! Camarasa feeds Theo Hernández motoring forward on the left, and the on-loan Atlético man pins a low cross into the middle. Keylor Navas and Raphael Varane make an almight hash of it, leaving the ball to fall for Deyverson waiting at the back post, and the Brazilian takes a touch before driving into the unguarded net! Well, well, well.
