Cr7 hits a hatrick as Real Madrid gains a full 3 points

Atletico 🆚 Real FT Review
Ronaldo scored from a free kick that took a wicked deflection into the goal of oblak.
As was expected, Atletico made a flying start after the break, putting Real Madrid’s defence under a severe test as they tussled with them. About 20 minutes into the second half Madrid started generating some momentum, getting closer to Atletico’s goal, which culminated in a penalty by Savic on Ronaldo.
Ronaldo smashed the penalty hard into the bottom left corner past a diving Oblak, to make the equation 0-2. In the 77th minute, Ronaldo managed to complete his hat-trick smashing a goal into the back of the net courtesy of a beautiful cross by Welshman Bale.
After Cristiano’s third, the match came to a sedate end where one could tell that Atletico were desperate to get off the pitch.Atletico Madrid after loosing to Real Madrid at the championship league game 2-1 in which they fought hard to try and win. Giroud 89th minute strike cancelled out mata's equalizer

Jose Mourinho was left frustrated as Arsenal rescued a late 1-1 draw at Manchester United, while Yaya Toure was back in Pep Guardiola's good books with a brace in Manchester City's 2-1 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Olivier Giroud converted Arsenal's first effort on target in the 89th minute to salvage a point for Arsene Wenger's side after Juan Mata's 69th-minute strike looked to have earned United a much-needed win.

Isis shoots 40 civilians and hangs their bodies from poles in Mosul

Isis shot 40 civilians dead on Tuesday and hung their bodies from electricity poles.
The horrific execution took place in Mosul, according to the United Nations, where a fierce battle is being fought between Iraqi forces and the terror group.
This latest mass execution was reportedly carried out as a punishment for ‘treason’.
Another man in the centre of the city was shot dead in public as well, after reportedly flouting Isis’s ban on mobile phones.

The killings were carried out on the orders of self-appointed ‘courts’, leading senior UN officials to demand the restoration of law and order in Mosul as soon as possible.
According to the UN report they were dressed in orange clothes that were marked in red with the words ‘Traitors and agents of the ISF’, referring to the Iraqi Security Forces.
A further 20 civilians were also shot dead on Wednesday evening at the Ghabat military base in northern Mosul, the UN added, because they had supposedly leaked information.
Zeid Raad al-Hussein, the UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights, is calling for the government to ‘act quickly to restore effective law enforcement in areas retaken from Isis to ensure that captured fighters and their perceived supporters are dealt with according to the law’.
Last month government forces launched an offensive to retake Mosul, which has been occupied by Isis since 2014 and has become known as their de-facto capital in Iraq.
Despite facing severe resistance, the troops appear to be making consolidated gains in the eastern outskirts of the city after entering nine days ago.
It has also been alleged, however, that government forces have committed atrocities.
According to Amnesty International, on Thursday men dressed in federal police tortured and killed six residents of villages south of Mosul, accusing them of being linked to Isis.
However, the federal police have denied any involvement in the crimes.

Wayne Rooney to be stripped of England captaincy by Gareth Southgate after boozy antics

Wayne Rooney will reportedly have the England captaincy removed from him when Gareth Southgate is announced as manager at the end of the month.
The 31-year-old forward was pictured looking worse for wear at a wedding while on international duty with the Three Lions earlier this week.
It’s understood Rooney went against Southgate by returning to the wedding party after the interim boss told him to go back to bed.

The Sun suggest the Manchester United skipper has apologised to Southgate but the 46-year-old’s plans to replace him are already set in stone.
England’s all-time record goalscorer now risks being totally removed from the national set-up after managing 119 caps and 53 goals.

Following the circulation of the photographs, FA chief executive Martin Glenn said: ‘We’re getting a proper investigation of what actually went on – “were there other FA staff involved – yes or no?” – and we’re doing a review of it obviously.

‘It’s disappointing. I think it’s appropriate he apologised because it doesn’t set a great tone for the England captain but, that said, I don’t want to over-dramatise it either.’
‘We’re talking to anyone who was there on Saturday night to find out if anyone from the backroom staff was involved and then we’ll take a view, but we don’t know what the facts are yet.

‘I think it’d be ‘why on earth are you doing that given there is an understanding, a team agreement around alcohol consumption during camps?’, so there would be questions asked for sure.’

Ozil says he is fresher than ever before

Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil warns Manchester United he’s fresher than ever ahead of Premier League clash

Ozil fires warning shot on social media ahead of Man Utd v Arsenal

Mesut Ozil has warned Manchester United he’s feeling fresher than ever ahead of Arsenal’s visit to Old Trafford on Saturday.
The 28-year-old was not named in Joachim Low’s latest Germany squad and instead stayed in London.

Low opted to give him a rest during their World Cup qualifier against San Marino and a friendly with Italy.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger described it as an ‘intelligent decision’ to leave him at home and it has allowed Ozil to get some much needed rest ahead of a busy period.

The Gunners face Paris Saint-Germain just four days after their Premier League clash with United and the extra rest for Ozil could prove hugely beneficial.
And the World Cup winner took to Twitter to warn United he was feeling extra fresh ahead of their match.

‘Gained new energy during international break,’ he wrote.
‘See you in Manchester on Saturday! #YaGunnersYa #BigMatchComingUp.’
United fans, be warned!

Willian was left confused by Chelsea’s decision to not hire a private jet to rush him back from international duty with Brazil, according to reports.
The Daily Mail claims that Chelsea opted not to team up with Liverpool, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, who split the £120,000 cost of a private jet in order to get their Brazilian stars back quicker than using commercial airlines.

Football news: Athletico Madrid set for clash against Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid host Real Madrid for the last time in La Liga at the Vicente Calderon on Saturday with the pain of a second Champions League final defeat in three years to their city rivals still fresh in the memory.
However, both sides have been troubled by severe injury problems with Atletico's top scorer Antoine Griezmann and Real captain Sergio Ramos facing a race against time to be fit.
Real lifted their 11th European Cup on penalties in the last meeting between the teams in May and Atletico are the more desperate side for more reasons than just revenge as Diego Simeone's men lie six points off the leaders at the top of the table.
"There are scars that remain there and that we will never forget," said Atletico captain Gabi.
"They are bitter moments and above all they are hard because of what it meant to all Atletico fans."
Atletico are due to move to their new La Peineta stadium next season after 50 years at the Calderon.
And after two defeats in three games, Gabi believes victory is necessary to get back in the title hunt.
"That it is the last derby at the Calderon in La Liga makes it all the more exciting and special," he added.
"If we win we are in the fight once more."
Griezmann returned from international duty with France with a severely bruised left foot, but has trained this week and is expected to start.
Real are even more ravaged by injury with Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Alvaro Morata definitely sidelined.
Ramos hasn't played since spraining knee ligaments over a month ago, but is aiming to return with his usual central defensive partner Pepe also a major doubt.
However, Madrid will have a fully-fit Luka Modric, who Gabi described as Real's "best player" free to start for the first time in nearly two months.
Despite Real's European hoodoo over Atletico, it is the red and white side of Madrid that has dominated in recent seasons in league encounters.
Atletico haven't lost a league derby in the past three seasons, including Zinedine Zidane's only La Liga defeat as Real boss in a 1-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu back in February.
BARCA’S CHANCE
With their two major title rivals facing off, Barcelona have the chance to jump into top spot earlier on Saturday when Malaga visit the Camp Nou.

Luis Suarez is suspended, while Lionel Messi and Neymar only arrived back in Barcelona on Thursday after starring for Argentina and Brazil respectively in World Cup qualifying.
Paco Alcacer will start in Suarez's absence as he continues his search for a first Barca goal since a €30 million move from Valencia in August.
Meanwhile, Barca should be boosted by the return of Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba from injury.
Sevilla will aim to remain in the title hunt and bounce back from a thrilling 2-1 defeat to Barca a fortnight ago when they visit Deportivo la Coruna.
Villarreal travel to Athletic Bilbao in a match of huge consequence in the battle for the fourth Champions League place in the pick of Sunday's fixtures.

the Senate are reconsidering accepting president buhari request

Reports say this might be as a result of the meetings which Buhari had with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki. The Senate had earlier rejected the request, saying there were no documents supporting the request as referenced in the letter sent by the President.According to Punch, the Majority Leader of the Senate, Senator Ali Ndume, said“We will deal with the issues this week by God’s grace.”The Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Sabi Abdullahi, who spoke on the issue, added that “As it is, we don’t even have any information that will enable us to be diligent.“We passed the budget and the borrowing plan in the budget was clear, N3.2tn made up of N900bn from domestic sources and the balance from external lenders. But the question is: with the new one that was sent, what have they done with respect to the provisions of the 2016 budget? It is not clear. How are they going to do it?“Those are the things we presume are in the document that Mr. President said was ‘attached’, which, unfortunately, his officials were careless about and they showed that they are truly incompetent. This is the first time we are seeing information on the budget sent to us without those details. It came as a letter. We saw the letter and it was read.“Do we have any alternative? No, we don’t. I have seen situations where people have tried as much as possible to create and perpetuate the frosty relationship between the two arms of government. It is unfortunate.”You will recall that Senator Ali Ndume said he regretted not marketing the proposal » for the loan, shortly after the Senate threw it out.

Donald Trump appoint Reince preibus as chief of staff

President-elect Donald J. Trump on Sunday chose Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee and a loyal campaign adviser, to be his White House chief of staff, turning to a Washington insider whose friendship with the House speaker, Paul D. Ryan, could help secure early legislative victories. In selecting Mr. Priebus, the president-elect passed over Stephen K. Bannon, the right-wing media mogul who oversaw his presidential campaign. If Mr. Trump had appointed Mr. Bannon, a fierce critic of the Republican establishment, it would have demonstrated a continued disdain for a party that Mr. Trump fought throughout his campaign.Mr. Trump’s choice is certain to anger some of his most conservative supporters, many of whom expect him to battle the Washington establishment over issues like taxes, immigration, trade, health care and the environment. They view Mr. Priebus as a deal maker who will be too eager to push the new president toward compromise. The Run-UpThe podcast that makes sense of the most delirious stretch of the 2016 campaign.  Mr. Priebus is expected to have multiple deputies, including Katie Walsh, the chief of staff of the Republican National Committee, who is close to Mr. Priebus and helped ensure a tight working relationship between the party’s operational infrastructure and Mr. Trump’s campaign.Other advisers in Mr. Trump’s inner circle will also have his ear, including Jared Kushner, his son-in-law, who is likely to wield great influence over the new president regardless of whether he holds a formal title. Mr. Kushner, who has no experience in politics or government, is often the last person Mr. Trump turns to for counsel.Mr. Bannon — the longtime chairman of Breitbart News, a site distinguished by its nationalist, conspiracy-laden coverage — was named chief strategist and senior counselor, and a news release from Mr. Trump’s transition team said that Mr. Priebus and Mr. Bannon would work as “equal partners.” Mr. Bannon is also likely to serve as a conduit to the populist right and conservative media outlets.A onetime Goldman Sachs banker, Mr. Bannon has transformed himself into a media figure who favors a scorched-earth style of politics and views the corporate elite and the government establishment with disdain.Breitbart News regularly traffics in racially charged accusations about President Obama, provocative comparisons between abortion providers and Holocaust killers, and contempt for feminism. Many of its articles tap into a fierce populism not unlike the voter sentiment that helped fuel Mr. Trump’s victory.

Trump protesters resounding there message :no national mandate

Aging Baby Boomers who haven't toted a protest sign since their anti-war days in the 1970s.A group of students demonstrate outside the White House in opposition of President-elect Donald ...moreJose Luis Magana, APStreet demonstrations that started as a release of anger, frustration and disbelief after Democrat Hillary Clinton conceded to Republican Donald Trump have mushroomed into a rolling movement that has engulfed the country for four days and counting. From New York to Miami to Olympia, Wash., to Iowa City, the election results have touched a nerve. Shouts of "Dump Trump"  and "Not My President"  are the battle cry punctuating gatherings along Fifth Avenue, outside the White House and in front of small-town city halls. Most have been peaceful; a few have teetered toward violence; many have been emotional. While most protesters acknowledge they can't change Tuesday's vote, they want to stand in deafening opposition to a candidate who disparaged women, gays, immigrants and other segments of society.Political action group MoveOn.org was one of the first to issue a call to action early Wednesday."We were sort of reeling" Tuesday night  in the raw hours as Trump's victory became evident, Ben Wikler, Washington director for MoveOn, told USA TODAY on Saturday. "Our idea was for people in common to show each other they weren't alone. There were people out there who would fight with them."MoveOn urged Americans to gather peacefully to "take a continued stand against misogyny, racism, Islamophobia and xenophobia." Within hours, about 275 protests and vigils had been organized nationwide Wednesday, Wikler said. "There was an enormous outpouring of spontaneous energy and concern."Wikler said one of MoveOn's biggest goals with protests is to "show there is not a national mandate" of support for the policies of Trump. "Members of Congress should have no illusions."He said he was not surprised by the rush to the streets in the first 24 hours. "People feel abandoned now," he said.Yong Jung Cho, 26, who organized a candlelight vigil in front of the White House on Wednesday night, said about 2,000 people showed up. "Together, we sang, we cried and we marched" to Trump's hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue. "In this moment, the protests are showing the people, the country and the world that we are here for each other."Other protests have sprouted up through social media. More than a dozen Facebook protest groups organized in the past few days, one even soliciting members worldwide. The demonstrations have not been "premeditated,"  said Kari Winter, a University at Buffalo professor of American studies who has researched protest movements."The election results took almost everyone by surprise," Winter said. "The protests have erupted out of the shock and rage of people who suddenly feel disinherited and homeless."The right to protest, the core of the First Amendment, is a basic American value. Throughout history, protest movements have led to shifts in the U.S. landscape. Strikes at small factories in the 1930s blossomed into labor protests nationwide that resulted in workplace practices and protections still in place today.Even though the Supreme Court ruled segregation unconstitutional in 1954, it took sit-ins and demonstrations to finally enact real change, most notably the 1963 March on Washington. The anti-war movement of the late 1960s and '70s raged through campus sit-ins, strikes and protests, raising social awareness and influencing the course of the Vietnam conflict. In recent times, there have been mixed reviews on whether protest movements such as Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matter have been a success. Winter said social media platforms play such a significant role in protests today that the dynamic has changed from years past. But there are similarities.

Corey lewandoski resigns from CNN after visit to Trump tower

Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski resigned from his role as a political commentator on CNN Friday, effectively immediately, after being seen arriving at Trump Tower earlier in the day.Despite being fired from the Trump campaign in June, Lewandowski has stayed in close contact with his former co-workers and there has been a lot of speculation about a Lewandowski role in the Trump White House.CNN's decision to hire Lewandowski three days after he left the Trump campaign was highly controversial and the move was condemned by several media critics. USA TODAY columnist Rem Reider felt Lewandoski's hire was one of the worst examples of "the revolving door between politics and the media" because unlike many talking heads, the combative Lewandoski had minimal political experience."His background is largely as a Trump guy," Reider wrote. "And not so much as a strategist — Trump is his own strategist — or deep thinker, but as a right-hand man, a body man and an enforcer."I think it's really important to have voices on CNN who are supportive of the Republican nominee," CNN President Jeff Zucker said, defending his decision to hire Lewandowski to Variety. "It's hard to find a lot of those. Our competitors tried to hire him too."Lewandowski drew national media attention in March when he was charged with simple assault after reporter Michelle Fields accused him of forcefully grabbing her during a Florida Trump rally. Authorities declined to prosecute Lewandowski, citing a lack of evidence.
