During the ceremony host Bebe Rexha revealed the EMA trophies had been turned purple in memory of pop star Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber swept to victory at the MTV European Music Awards collecting two prizes apiece in a ceremony that paid tribute to late musician Prince.Gaga took home best female and best look whilst Bieber beat Hello singer Adele to best song for hit track Sorry at the awards show in Rotterdam.The Canadian singer also won best fans - the third year in a row he has collected the prize but he lost in the social media battle againstHowever Bieber lost out to social media star turned heartthrob Shawn Mendes in the best male category whilst Dutch DJ Martin Garrix also had a successful evening, collecting two awards.
